Making the Most of Your Trip to Yosemite

Part of the Yosemite experience is discovering the park’s history and culture.  This includes the early Native American Indians and the history of Abraham Lincoln, who in 1864 set in motion the creation of the park by signing the Yosemite Grant.

Others include John Muir and President Theodore Roosevelt whose leadership and determination led to the creation of Yosemite National Park in 1890.
