Gifts in Memory

“Growing up and living in greater Los Angeles, my husband Dwight Steinert enjoyed time away from the city.  As kids, Dwight with his siblings, Kurt and Susan had stayed in Curry Village and visited the fire falls…I think Dwight was most inspired by the unique beauty of both Yosemite Valley and the backcountry.

Dwight had some life-changing experiences in the park—hiking, cross country skiing at Crane Flat, and even crossing the Merced River barefoot!

We started donating several years ago because the money went directly to projects that you could actually see take shape – like the Yosemite Falls restoration and the overlooks into the Valley.

When Dwight passed away our family honored his memory with a donation to Yosemite Conservancy because it has shown us that it can truly make a difference. Dwight wanted us to support Yosemite in this way, and it gives our family great satisfaction to know that one of his final wishes has been honored."
