Scientific Research

Funding Needed: $91,402

Yosemite is more than just a beautiful place. It is also an exciting hub of scientific research in diverse fields such as biology, geology and climatology. Scientists are working to better understand the processes that shape the landscape and the factors that contribute to healthier populations of plants and animals. The data collected is helping to develop better, more efficient management practices that translate into an improved visitor experience.

Without this vital research and data it would be impossible to make informed decisions about the future and in some cases prevent the loss of irreplaceable plants or animals.
