The Tuolumne Grove of Giant Sequoias is one of three Sequoia groves in Yosemite, which also includes Merced Grove and Mariposa Grove. Visitors hike a short distance to arrive at the grove and unlike the Mariposa Grove; there are no guided interpretive tours.
Today visitors arrive to find outdated interpretive material and little information to orient them to the highlights of the grove. The current signage is damaged, the information outdated and incorrect, and the self-guided tour is no longer suitable to the grove.
This year Yosemite Conservancy will help change all this. On completion of this project visitors will experience a self-guided tour with the most up-to-date scientific and educational information. Visitors will have the opportunity to better understand and appreciate these unique giants of Yosemite, and share this with their families.
