UC Merced Intern Yosemite Leadership Program

UC Merced Intern Yosemite Leadership Program

Intern projects focus on stewardship of Yosemite.

Students from the University of California Merced will have the opportunity to work one summer session in Yosemite alongside park staff. This internship program connects hands on learning to practical, field- based experiences while inspiring stewardship, emergent leadership skills and allowing for the completion of a tangible product for use within Yosemite.

Their internship culminates in a symposium held in Yosemite Valley where students present their projects to visiting public and park managers. These professional applied projects tackle issues that are central to park protection and serve as resources that benefit the parks ongoing management.

This is a way for students to gain valuable skills, and also give back to Yosemite by contributing their research and skills.
