Wildlife Management

Funding Needed: $117,700

Most visitors to Yosemite come with the hope of seeing its wildlife. The thrill of seeing animals in their natural habitat—catching a glimpse of one in the wild is exciting and makes for memorable family stories.

You may marvel at the sounds of the great gray owl at dusk or be woken by a chorus of songbirds at dawn.

Several endangered species, including the great gray owl and bighorn sheep all call Yosemite home.

For many species Yosemite is a haven while elsewhere across California and the country their populations are under threat. These programs ensure we are doing our best to protect them.

Getting Things Done

With your support we have re-introduced endangered species back into Yosemite. Because of you the peregrine falcon has returned and is breeding successfully on El Capitan after a 16-year absence.

Park Spotlight: Tunnel View

What a View! Yosemite Conservancy restored this famed vista in 2008.  From this scenic viewing area you can marvel at Half Dome, El Capitan,  Bridalveil Fall,  Cathedral Spires and more.
