Vogelsang Backpack Trek

September 4, 2014 to September 7, 2014

Kick off this unforgettable trek in Tuolumne Campground with an evening meeting Thursday, Sept. 4. The group will discuss the next three days on the trail, safety and Leave No Trace ethics. On Friday, we’ll begin by following the Lyell Fork of the Tuolumne River through sub-alpine meadows, then climb along Rafferty Creek to Tuolumne Pass. After a day’s hike up to the Vogelsang area, we’ll make camp near a beautiful High Sierra lake. On Saturday, do an optional day hike to the top of Vogelsang Peak, where a grand view of the Cathedral Range awaits. You will see breathtaking views of Mt. Clark, the Matterhorn and the river valley below Merced Lake. Led by knowledgeable educator and acclaimed author Suzanne Swedo, who wrote Best Easy Day Hikes Yosemite.

Experience package includes camping Sept. 4 & 7 at Tuolumne Meadows Campground plus entry into Yosemite. Upgrade your package to stay at Tuolumne Lodge Sept. 7.
