The Yosemite Theater is used eight hours a day, 365 days a year by education- and youth-program participants, park scientists, local and visiting experts, and the visiting public. Each year, more than half a million visitors watch Spirit of Yosemite, and tens of thousands more attend other programs and events in the theater. That near-constant use has taken its toll on the theater system, which has begun to fail with regularity and have a negative impact on visitors’ experiences.
In anticipation of 2014 anniversary activities, the Conservancy is funding the installation of upgraded audio and visual components for the theater system. This project will also refurbish the Yosemite Theater entrance to reflect the quality of the events and films inside.
With your help, consistent and high-quality Yosemite Theater experiences will engage park visitors time and time again.
