The Yosemite Museum will host a special exhibit to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the signing of the Yosemite Grant Act. Historic materials from the Yosemite Museum and other collections highlight the importance of this legislation to the history of conservation. Materials date back to before the grant was signed and offer a unique opportunity for visitors to see pieces that otherwise would remain in storage. Paintings, photographs, portraits, prints and early maps will be featured, and audiovisual displays will include recordings of historic writings and other interviews.
The exhibit, which will run June through October, will paint a visual and narrative history of Yosemite National Park and the beginning of the entire National Park Service.
Your support will help commemorate the sesquicentennial anniversary of President Lincoln signing the legislation that preserved Yosemite.
