John Muir recounts his dramatic battle to save the Hetch Hetchy Valley from dam construction. Muir is portrayed by Lee Stetson, who has been performing live in Yosemite for over 30 years. Audiences will witness Muir’s profound love of wilderness coupled with his righteous despair over the threat to Hetch Hetchy. Come watch history and drama unfold during this exciting live show at the Yosemite Theater.

Lee Stetson as John Muir

Lee Stetson has portrayed John Muir in several productions in Yosemite National Park for more than a quarter of a million visitors since 1983. He is passionate about promoting the performing arts in the national parks. Stetson founded the Hawaii Performing Arts Company, served as the artistic manager of both the Hawaii Theatre Festival and the Antique Theatre Festival of Idaho, and has been a freelance director. As an actor, he has performed more than 50 major roles from Shakespeare to Neil Simon, and his television credits include a dozen episodes of Hawaii Five-0.
