On a September day in 2006, two hikers stood at Virginia Pass and contemplated a weathered metal sign: "Entering Yosemite Wilderness." How many more such markers waited quietly on remote passes and peaks along Yosemite's edges? And how many could they find? From that simple question, a quest was born: to "bag" the park's boundary signs.
