Winter in Yosemite means quiet days, glittering peaks and snowshoe season! Join us for a guided snowshoe walk to Dewey Point, high above Yosemite Valley. As you make your way through a frosty forest wonderland, your experienced naturalist guide will point out winter wildlife, animal tracks, tree species and more. Enjoy lunch at the overlook, where you’ll find spectacular views of El Capitan, Ribbon Fall and other natural wonders, and then take the scenic route back to Yosemite Ski and Snowboard Area. 

Included with your registration:

  • A full-day guided snowshoe adventure (Saturday, Feb. 3, starting at 8 am and lasting about eight hours)
  • Park entry (as needed)
  • Snowshoe rental (as needed)
  • Two nights of camping (as needed, Feb. 2 and Feb. 3) at Upper Pines Campground in Yosemite Valley
  • Note: There is no discount if you choose not to use our gate pass or campsites. Information about upgrading your accommodations to stay at Yosemite Valley Lodge will be emailed to you after you sign up.

Andrea Canapary

Andrea Canapary is passionate about teaching people of all ages to develop appreciation for the natural world. She spent ten summers in the Adirondack Mountains helping connect youth to wilderness, and has since instructed at numerous environmental education centers across California and Oregon. After being assigned to lead a California Conservation Corps (CCC) backcountry trail crew for five months in the Yosemite high country 20 years ago, Andrea fell in love with the region, settling just outside the park to raise her family. She has now spent more than 18 years teaching classes on both the natural and human history of Yosemite to CCC trail crews, and has enjoyed countless adventures in Yosemite’s front and backcountry. She is excited to guide you on a trip that will leave you with some equally incredible memories!
