Dine and Discover: Geology Underfoot in Yosemite

Yosemite experts lead guided tours on geology and other wonders of the valley.
June 2, 2017 to June 3, 2017

Yosemite’s remarkable rock formations, from smooth granite domes and sheer cliffs to glacial erratics dotting polished slopes, are among the park’s most recognizable features. Get the inside (and ancient) story on Yosemite’s peaks and valleys during a “Dine and Discover” experience with park geologist Greg Stock. Start the adventure with a Friday evening presentation and group meal, and then spend Saturday exploring Yosemite Valley, spotting rockfall sites and learning about the fascinating geologic history of this glacier-carved landscape. Bring your scientific curiosity and rock-related questions!

Get a sneak peek at some of the topics that will be discussed by viewing Yosemite Nature Notes: Granite.
