Program Overview: Spend a moonlit evening at Taft Point, an iconic viewpoint on the south rim of Yosemite Valley. This guided hike follows a mile-long route from Glacier Point Road to the Taft Point, overlook, where you can catch the sunset while enjoying views of Half Dome, El Capitan, and Sierra peaks stretching into the distance. As night descends, your naturalist guide will share insights into the area’s natural and human history, from the story behind the point’s presidential name to the geology of the point’s giant fissures. After a few hours of scenery, science and stories, hike back out under the full moon. Don’t forget to bring your camera — and your curiosity!
