Snowshoe Yosemite: Winter Wildlife in Mariposa Grove

Snowshoe Yosemite: Winter Wildlife in Mariposa Grove

Snowshoe Yosemite: Winter Wildlife in Mariposa Grove
March 9, 2019

Join a Yosemite expert for a guided winter experience in one of the world’s natural wonders: the Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias.

As you snowshoe among the towering trees, you’ll learn about the grove’s natural and human history, and about the diverse wildlife that live among the sequoias. Look for signs of animals that rely on this special ecosystem, including owls, fishers and deer, and enjoy the quiet that descends on the forest in winter. At each step, you’ll also get to see the outcome of the recently completed multiyear restoration project that brought ecological balance back to the grove, ensuring the long-term health of the sequoia habitat and its residents.

Included with your registration:

  • A full-day guided snowshoe adventure (Saturday, March 9, starting at 9 am and lasting about seven hours).
  • Park entry (as needed).
  • Snowshoe rental (as needed).
  • Camping included, if needed; limited sites are shared among all the participants (reservation arrives Friday, March 8, and departs Monday, March 11) at Upper Pines Campground in Yosemite Valley. We cannot adjust these dates.

Note: There is no discount if you choose not to use our gate pass or campsites. Information about upgrading your accommodations to stay at Yosemite Valley Lodge will be emailed to you after you sign up. The option to upgrade expires 45 days before the start of the program.
