Yosemite Conservancy Seeks Volunteers for a Unique Monthlong Opportunity in Yosemite National Park

Yosemite National Park, February 12, 2018 – Yosemite Conservancy is seeking volunteers for 30-day stays in Yosemite National Park from May-September to help visitors enjoy the park’s natural, cultural and educational activities.

“Volunteering with the Conservancy is a unique way to deepen personal connections to the park,” said Yosemite Conservancy Volunteer Program Manager Mark Marschall. “Our volunteers do an amazing job helping visitors from around the world enjoy their experience in Yosemite.”

The Conservancy’s visitor information assistants spend a month in the park volunteering 32 hours per week and camping at sites in Yosemite Valley, Wawona or Tuolumne Meadows. Volunteers will be working in areas near their campsites such as the Valley Visitor Center and Happy Isles in the Valley, and the Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias, after it reopens later this year, close to Wawona. Time off to explore the park is also scheduled. All volunteers receive online and on-site training, as well as free park entrance and discounts from the park concessionaire and at Yosemite Conservancy bookstores.
