Range of Light Film Festival - 2014

Range of Light Film Festival - 2014

To honor the 150th anniversary of the Yosemite Grant Act, the park hosted the first-ever Yosemite Film Festival.

In 2014, to honor the 150th anniversary of the Yosemite Grant Act, the park hosted the Range of Light Film Festival, midwinter celebration of film, music and storytelling about Yosemite. The festival, which took place at the Yosemite Theater from February 27 to March 2, highlighted 25 films from across the country, including the premiere park showing of the Ken Burns documentary Yosemite: A Gathering of Spirit. In addition to sharing Yosemite’s beauty through film, the festival helped visitors learn about the significance of the Yosemite Grant Act for the park and for the nation.

By supporting this festival, you helped honor Yosemite’s legacy as a place that has inspired generations of filmmakers, photographers, videographers and visitors alike.

Project Notes

We are very excited to present stories from Yosemite, the Sierra Nevada and beyond during the inaugural Range of Light Film Festival. This will be a celebration of light, motion, community, conservation and adventure.
