The changing seasons and milder weather of autumn in Yosemite create an ideal creative inspiration. Immersed in quiet contemplation, you will find the freedom to respond to the beauty of Yosemite and express your imagination through color and brush stroke. In his gentle and humorous style, acclaimed artist Osamu Saito will share the techniques you need to create unique watercolor landscapes.

This early autumn opportunity will capture both your intellect and your soul by allowing you to paint the wonder of Yosemite Valley’s landscape to carry home with you.

Beginner level: Little to no experience required, recommended ages 16+
Registration: $15 per day per visitor; drop-ins welcome as space is available
Location: Yosemite Art Center; workshops are held outside, weather and medium permitting
Time: 10 am to 2 pm, Monday through Saturday. Please arrive at 9:45 am if you need to purchase supplies at the art center.
Materials: Supplies are not included. However, supplies are available for purchase at the Yosemite Art Center. All purchases benefit the park!

Osamu Saito

Osamu Saito was born in Japan; he has studied in both Japan and the United States. After 35 years of studying various media, he finds he prefers watercolor. When he’s not leading workshops in Yosemite, Osamu studies and broadens his creative ideas and techniques at his home in Southern California.
