Artist and naturalist Floy Zittin leads an art workshop on techniques to capture Yosemite’s birds and plants

May in Yosemite is a wonderful time to experience spring in the Valley with one of our talented artists as a guide. Floy Zittin shares her experience as an artist and naturalist, helping you create your own masterpiece with line and color. Learn about the park’s birds and plant life, as you take pencil and brush in hand. Join in this adventure for artists, naturalists and explorers of all levels and ages. Floy helps you express the character of native Yosemite animals while creating a poetic mood. This Yosemite art workshop is a blend of observation with sketching and loose watercolor atmospheric techniques.

Learn about the wonders that surround you, capture the mood of this special place, and create a painting that is uniquely your Yosemite.

Registration: $10 per day per visitor; drop-ins also welcome, as space is available
Location: Yosemite Art Center; workshops are held outside, weather and medium permitting
Time: 9:45 am to 2 pm, Monday through Saturday. Please arrive at 9:30 am if you need to purchase supplies at the art center.
Materials: Supplies are not included. However, supplies are available for purchase at the Yosemite Art Center. All purchases benefit the park!

Floy Zittin

Floy Zittin received her academic training in biology and has worked for a decade as a scientific illustrator. For the past 20 years, Floy has taught watercolor while promoting her own art. She has won numerous awards and is represented by galleries in the San Francisco Bay Area.
