Suzi Long teaches students to capture Yosemite's essence in this Yosemite Conservancy experiential art workshop.

Capture the essence of Yosemite in this unique experiential workshop. Enjoy an experience that lasts longer than a photograph, as you record the sounds, smells, sunlight and shadows of Yosemite using pencils, pen and ink. Artist and educator Suzi Long teaches students to develop a keen sense of observation and record the beauty of Yosemite. Long shares tips and tricks to open a world of imagination and creativity, suitable for artists at any skill level.

Beginner level: Little to no experience required, recommended ages 16+
Registration: $15 per day per visitor; drop-ins welcome as space is available
Location: Yosemite Art Center; workshops are held outside, weather and medium permitting
Time: 10 am to 2 pm, Monday through Saturday. Please arrive at 9:45 am if you need to purchase supplies at the art center.
Materials: Supplies are not included. However, supplies are available for purchase at the Yosemite Art Center. All purchases benefit the park!

Suzi Long

For the past ten years, Suzi Long has taught pen, ink and watercolor classes. She runs a personal gallery of her work in Mendocino, California. Suzi began her career teaching art at the University of Hawaii. Her mural work has been shown in Newsweek, Better Homes & Gardens and Sunset Books, as well as multiple San Francisco Bay area newspapers. Suzi has studied with many well-known watercolor and pastel artists. Her numerous awards include two Best Of Show awards and a People's Choice award at the Los Gatos Plein Air Competition.
