John Dill

John Dill arrived in Yosemite in 1970, intent on a temporary rock-climbing vacation. He found himself assisting the National Park Service with rescues, and in 1974 he became one of the first full-time Yosemite Search and Rescue employees. During his time with YOSAR, he has participated in many significant incidents of all types.
